About Preston
Preston Parker is a graduate of the University of Utah. He was associated with the Los Angeles office of Price Waterhouse & Co., one of the largest, international accounting firms. He worked on audit teams with a number of publicly traded companies in manufacturing, importing, warehousing, and the motion picture industries.
Preston later became Controller and Chief Financial Officer of Snarr Advertising Inc. a regional outdoor advertising company with billboards in 13 western states. He was instrumental in developing methodology for compensating sign owners for billboards removed under the 1965 Highway Beautification Act. He also participated in a successful effort to give tax relief to sign companies whose assets were taken under the Beautification Act by the federal government.
As the business of Snarr Advertising decreased because of its sale of billboards to the government, Preston built a CPA practice in Salt Lake City as Roberts and Parker CPA’s, and Roberts, Parker and Andrews CPAs. The practice eventually had offices in Salt Lake City, Tooele, and Nephi.
In 1992, Preston became a founding team member of ExerHealth, Inc., maker of the HealthRider exercise machine. The product was sold extensively through the United States using television infomercials and the company expanded successfully during the time Preston was associated with them.
In 1994 Preston moved to Arizona and established a CPA practice in the Scottsdale, Phoenix area as Preston Parker CPA PC, Parker and Rozdolski CPA’s and eventually Parker Egan CPAs PLLC.
Preston has been an enthusiastic participant in many causes and an active contributor to community, civic and church activities. He was elected two terms as State Treasurer for a major political party. He has been a long time scoutmaster, and recently Committee Chairman for a local troop of the Boy Scouts of America. He helped with the Buffalo Soldiers Monument and has actively supported the Four Seasons Orchestra. He has held leadership positions and participated actively in the local and regional units of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Group Assistant, Executive Secretary and member of the High Council. He enjoys music and is a member of the Scottsdale Arizona North Stake Choir. Preston and his wife Marilee are parents of five children and have seven grandchildren.
